Saturday, Dec. 2:
CHP RACING’s juvenile filly LADY DE BERRY (’21 Practical Joke / Tortuga Lady) faced off against nine other fillies Saturday at Del Mar in the Grade 3 ‘Jimmy Durante Stakes’ going 1 mile over a firm turf course. Content to settle at the back of the pack under jockey FLAVIEN PRAT, the filly angled out in the stretch to finish strongly, falling just a neck short of the victory. This impressive runner-up placing earns the CHAD BROWN trainee her first black type out of only three career starts.
Bred in Kentucky by PETER BLUM THOROUGHBREDS LLC, the daughter of Practical Joke was purchased by top bloodstock agent MIKE RYAN out of this year’s OBS March Sale. She has now tallied one win and one second from three starts and has earned $77,205.
Good luck to LADY DE BERRY and her connections in 2024!

REPOLE STABLES’ sophomore filly GIVE ME KISSES (’20 Street Sense / Agave Kiss) made her long-awaited return to the races a winning one when she took down Aqueducts fifth race on Sunday, an allowance for fillies and mares, three and up, going six furlongs over a fast main track. Off since December of 2022 when she was second in the Gin Talking Stakes at Laurel Park, the TODD PLETCHER trainee wasted no time getting back to the winners’ circle when she took command of the field of eight shortly after the break and never relinquished the lead, scoring by three and a half lengths.
Purchased for $210,000 as a yearling from the 2021 Fasig-Tipton Saratoga Select Yearling Sale, the filly was on offer as a two-year-old at the 2022 Fasig-Tipton Gulfstream Sale where she was hammered down to REPOLE STABLES for $400,000. In addition to her allowance win and her stakes placing second, GIVE ME KISSES was a first-time-out maiden winner. From her three career starts she has earned $116,250.
Best of luck to all!
