Saturday July 29: We send out a big “Congratulations” to our friends at My RACEHORSE on their exciting win Saturday when color-bearer SEIZE THE GREY (’21 c. Arrogate / Smart Shopping) proved to be a determined winner of Saratoga’s seventh race, a 6 ½ furlong maiden special weight contest on the main track for two-year-olds. Trained by legendary Hall of Fame conditioner D. WAYNE LUCAS, the gray colt had ‘seized’ control of the field of nine rivals early on and never relinquished the lead winning by a length and three quarters. He was ridden by JAIME TORRES.
SEIZE THE GREY was purchased by MY RACEHORSE at last August’s FASIG-TIPTON SARATOGA SELECT YEARLING SALE for $300,000 out of the MILL RIDGE FARM consignment. Out of stakes-placed Smart Strike mare Smart Shopping, the son of the late Arrogate was making just his second career start.
Best of luck to SEIZE THE GREY and all of his wonderful MY RACEHORSE owners. We wish you much continues success.
