BOOTH (’21 c. Mitole / Sophia’s Song) racked up his fourth consecutive victory Saturday when he won the Grade 3 Maryland Sprint. The victory was also the colt’s third consecutive graded stakes win. Trained by STEVE ASMUSSEN and piloted by his son ERIK ASMUSSEN, BOOTH also garnered his sixth triple-digit Equibase speed figure out of eleven lifetime starts. He has won seven times and earned $851,191, an impressive return on his juvenile purchase price of $225,000.

BONA VENTURE STABLE looks to have quite a nice sophomore turf sprinter on their hands in ORTLEY AVENUE(IRE) [’22 c. Bungle In The Jungle(GB) / Titan Saga(IRE)]. Graduating at first asking at Gulfstream Park back on April 6, the GEORGE WEAVER trainee finished a game second in last weekend’s Roar Stakes, a five-furlong contest over a firm Gulfstream turf course.

A big congratulations goes out to ECHO SOUND (’22 f. Echo Town / Eagle Sound) and her connections, owner GABRIEL DUIGNAN and conditioner GEORGE R. “RUSTY” ARNOLD on the filly’s victory in last Friday’s Grade 3 Miss Preakness Stakes at Pimlico. Already a black type winner having scored in last October’s Myrtlewood Stakes at Keeneland, The Miss Preakness victory gave ECHO SOUND her first graded stakes win. Never worse than second, the filly owns a record of 5-4-1-0 with earnings of $363,745.

Having already banked over $125,000 and picking up black type in last December’s New York Stallion Series Stakes, sophomore filly MATERIAL GIRL (’22 Central Banker / Tanmawwy) scored her first win on Friday at Belmont at the Big A.
Trained by CHAD BROWN and ridden by MANNY FRANCO overcame a bumpy start to take the inside path to victory in the one-mile dirt contest.
MATERIAL GIRL has amassed a record of 1-2-1 from 5 career outs for owners TEAM HANLEY and THIRTY-YEAR RACING.

LENNILU (’23 f. Leinster / Lulu’s Pom Pom) followed up her winning debut with another victory, this time in the ROYAL PALM JUVENILE FILLIES STAKES at Gulfstream Park, thus earning herself a berth in one of Royal Ascot’s juvenile races in June plus a $25,000 travel allowance to that meet. Ridden by LUIS SAEZ, who had also piloted her sire Leinster, the filly ran alongside the front runner before sprinting clear down the lane to score easily by 4 lengths.
