Wavertree graduate & multiple G1 winning millionaire COLONEL LIAM has been retired from racing & will take up stud duties at Ocala Stud for the 2023 breeding season.
Purchased as a yearling out of the 2018 Keeneland September Sale for just $50,000 the gray son of Liam’s Map blossomed into a $1.2 million 2-year-old in training. He was purchased by agent JACOB WEST for owners ROBERT & LAWANA LOW out of the 2019 OBS April Sale.
Trained by TODD PLETCHER, COLONEL LIAM made 12 career starts – 7 in Graded Stakes, of which he won 4. His most notable win came in the Pegasus World Cup Turf Invitational Stakes, G1 last year. The 6-year-old horse retires with earnings of $1,812,565.
We would like to wish COLONEL LIAM the best in his new career. This great horse has been so good to us all, and has earned his retirement. May it be a long & successful one.
COLONEL LIAM we salute you!
