February 19 : Graded-Stakes placed DIAMOND WOW (’19 f. Lookin At Lucky / Patriotic Diamond) took down Gulfstream’s 8th race on Sunday, an allowance optional claiming $62,500 contest for four-year-old and up fillies & mares. The PATRICK BIANCONE trainee sat along the rail patiently off the pace until the upper stretch when she was tipped out and clear by jockey JUNIOR ALVARADO. She took command in a matter of just a few strides and cruised home three lengths to the good.
DIAMOND WOW, out of a stakes winning half sister to millionaire DIAMOND OOPS, has racked-up 3 wins and 2 seconds (one of them in the JP Morgan Chance Jessamine Stakes G2 at Keeneland) and earnings of $182,740.
Congratulations to owners DIAMOND 100 RACING CLUB LLC, AMY E. DUNNE and PATRICK BIANCONE LLC.
February 11: JUST FOR SUL (’20 F. Justify . Susie’s Baby) ran away and hid from her competition Saturday at Riyadh. The gray filly raced in the middle of the track several lengths off the pacesetters down the backstretch during the 7-furlong contest. But mid-way through the turn, with imperceptible urging, JUST FOR SUL took flight and overtook the leaders in a matter of only a few strides. She was in control at the top of the stretch and continued to draw away as she ran to the finish. She prevailed by a whopping 13 length margin.
Purchased at last year’s OBS April Sale by agent CHAD SCHUMER, the filly now has a career record of 3-2-0-0. She was bred in Kentucky by DIAMOND CREEK FARM and is a half-sister to FAMILY WAY (G3W, G1P) and out of a half-sister to CARAVAGGIO (G1W) and MYJEN (G1W).
February 11: In her third consecutive win KLASSY BRIDGETTE (’20 f. Army Mule / Klassy Katlyn) earned black-type status in Saturday’s Dixie Belle Stakes at Oaklawn Park. Given a confident ride by jockey FRANCISCO ARRIETTA the filly was angled out off the rail to the 3 path around the 3/16 pole and fought gamely to win by a neck. Trainer CHRIS HARTMAN has now conditioned this talented filly to a record of 5-3-2-0 and a bankroll of $262,350. She was acquired for $70,000 at last year’s Fasig-Tipton Midlantic sale by JR THOROBREDS and JOE DAVIS.
Congratulations to owners JD THOROUGHBREDS LLC, JOEY KEITH DAVIS and LARRY J. ROMERO. We wish KLASSY BRIDGETTE and all of her connections much continued success!
February 10: Making it 3 for 3 IBRIM (’19 c. Cairo Prince / Strut The Canary) won the seventh race, an Allowance, at TURFWAY PARK on Friday night. Battling for the lead while racing down on the rail, IBRIM cleared his rival and eased home a 3 ½ length victor over the 11-horse field.
Coming off a 10-month layoff, IBRIM was conditioned back to winning form by trainer WESLEY WARD. Reins-man GERARDO CORRALES guided the gray colt to his latest victory which pushed earnings to $92,711.
Agent BEN MCELROY purchased the colt out of the 2022 OBS APRIL SALE for $135,000. IBRIM races for owner QATAR RACING.
Congratulations to IBRIM and all of his connections.
